MEET HEVEA QANIK
A strong alternative to steel and ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), vulcanized rubber adheres without damaging asphalt and concrete while absorbing shock and vibration.
BRIDGES: MEET HEVEA ORIGINALS
When it comes to both bridge bearing and isolation bearing pads, we’re proud to lead the way in North America. Accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and supporting some of the country’s longest bridges and largest structures, we go heavy on expertise.
WHAT IS HEVEA?
OUR NAME CAME NATURALLY
It’s actually a tree—Hevea brasiliensis, more precisely. Rubber is a natural product that’s extracted from the latex of different species of rubber trees. And 99% of the world’s natural rubber derives from Hevea brasiliensis.
NATURAL RUBBER PRODUCT
The Hevea rubber tree is tapped, much like maple trees, and its milky latex is the key source of natural rubber.
Vulcanized rubber manufacturing
The vulcanization of rubber, a process that increases the resistance of rubber products, was developed by Charles Goodyear in 1839.
A range of rubber products
The rubber plantation industry supplies manufacturers with this natural product to make latex gloves, tires, rubber dock bumpers and more.
HEAVY ON EXPERTISE
Since 1991, we’ve specialized in one-piece steel and vulcanized rubber products that lead in vibration control technology. Protecting your infrastructure and equipment is what we’ve always done. Confidently.
